hi as per Gov.uk web site
https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/compliance-handbook/ch51300
"There are four time limits within which we can issue assessments. These are
4 years from the end of the relevant tax period, see CH52100
6 years (careless) from the end of the relevant tax period, see CH53300
12 years (offshore) from the end of the relevant tax period, see CH53510, and
20 years (deliberate) from the end of the relevant tax period, see CH53600."
So.......don't throw them away yet!!

Beautiful work but no letter flap?

At your top rate so 20% if not higher earner or 40% if you are. its just lumped into your income
however the HMRC should issue a new tax code highlighting new known income so you pay tax through payroll
it's easier if they do otherwise you will have to do a self assessment at end of 23/24 tax year ( a pain and you'd need to put aside for tax in the interim)

Do you have fox cubs locally?
I had £600 of damage last year on my Vitara due to them munching cables and sensors!

Hi In the 90's I had a senior "officer" role in a Local Authority. Like any human endeavour there were the grafters and those there for their own advancement.
however the greater number were at the high end of the scale and they did a lot (whatever the party colour) to advance the quality of life for residents.
I never heard any whisper of corruption. It easy for people to allege it but local govt has cleaned up its act and officers will carry out thorough investigations if needed.
tbh to me the role did seem a bit thankless at times. some residents seemed to think they could bend their councillors ear over any and everything! to be frank if you were to be elected it would be a near full time job in some circumstances especially if you were on a committee.
just my 2p

TC. Can I suggest it is important to put a claim in , unless there was no damage at all. A similar incident in SE London 30 years ago resulted in a dent to inside of wheel hub needing a new wheel and tyre. if your mate can establish cost of damage there should be a claim. It will receive MUCH more attention than a complaint. Again photos where possible. Get him to ask for a claim form it will get their attention. Think of the outcome if a motorcycle or push bike had hit it!
All the best

Hi Matty
A different perspective
1 Sell your car to someone in the "north" who wont have the hassle of ULEZ to get the best price
2 if you have free/discounted parking atm it is worth a lot of time and hassle. Leaving your car at the edge of ULEZ will become a nightmare as so many people will be "dumping" their cars on their commute.
3 if you are NHS staff or qualify for NHS discount explore the discount schemes available for buying a new vehicle. Check your union perks if you are in one or look at a site like this one. https://healthservicediscounts.com/motoring/buying-a-car
4 Dont wait until August before doing something I think there will be a mad rush to trade in cars over the summer and you may be able to squeeze a better discount now.
All the best and thanks for being part of the best medical service in the world in spite of the hassles
cheers

Hi, I suggest that there are 2 steps she needs to take before speaking to DWP
1. work out if she needs to pay any more contributions before getting her State pension
https://www.gov.uk/state-pension/eligibility
2 if necessary check what she has already paid
https://www.gov.uk/check-national-insurance-record
(its a faff to register with the system but worth doing)

Whenever the time comes, stay with them until the very end.
Then they will go without worrying where you are.
It will just be your last thanks to them

Is the 20 bore the same frame as the 28 and 410?
Im wondering if the 410 is lighter or if they’re all the same weight gun.
Sorry i dont know. All I do know is that my 13 yo grandaughter 5'1" can handle the youth stock 20 w ease but finds a 12 bore even w 21 g carts an unpleasant experience.
if she gives up in a few months i will just keep it for her younger sisters
