About Me

As  a boy I grew up ferreting, shooting and anything involving the countryside, idolising 'I walked by Night' as my lifestyle!

I got my dream job as a gamekeeper working in Kent for Judge Sumner and Mr Teacher of Teachers whiskey.

Unfortunately a road accident ended that lifestyle as a working option and I was forced into less physical roles.

Despite that I have always kept dogs, been a keen shot, loved the management of wildlife within the farming landscape and tried to find pastimes alongside land owners.

As a keen wildlife artist I have sold over 700 original paintings in collections across the world, much of my art has involved raising money for charity, in particular Break, helping young lives. Now I work at home from my studio/gallery in Cawston, Norfolk, surrounded by art, with my wife Molly and our 9 month old lurcher Fern.

I would like to find somewhere reasonably close by that allowed me to follow the country pursuit while helping the farmer/landowner maintain the crops and wildlife to a better balance. I do believe there is a lot of trust involved, and to earn that requires respect. Of course that means everything from crop cycles, game birds, public access etc.

I allowed my shotgun license to lapse a few years ago, through not having any land, but am now in the process of reapplying with the aim to find long term pigeon shooting permission or similar.  Meantime I am hopeful of finding rabbit control land for me, Molly and the dog, which could also potentially entail ferrets.

We are experienced in working closely with others, and course that relates to employed gamekeepers, estate workers, farmers etc.

Realistically we could only be considered for locations around our region of Mid/North Norfolk but do hope that you find we suit your needs :)
