  1. Thanks for the positive replies. Its been a very worrying time for us all. I hope lead ban won't affect us but I'm sure gamebore will work out any power issues.
  2. Unfortunately special order from gamebore. Had to go down this route. Only available after jumping through many hoops and to sporting grounds Only not on the market. Absolutely correct sir. Thankyou for realising this.
  3. For any of you guys interested, I just thought I would share an update on the situation. We have now fully transitioned to our own "quiet" Cartridges. This has been met with a few mixed emotions but generally everyone is happy to use them as they appreciate our dilemma. Some of our more experienced Shooters find them slower than other carts. And some guys say they wont cycle through Semi autos. However most Semi auto users have been able to take the time and set up their guns so they do cycle no problem. We are smashing clays at 50yds plus with them and a guy sent me a picture of a heap of 63 crows killed with our carts using 3/8th choke over a barley field. We have kept the cost of the carts as low as we could at £7.50 a box or £72 a slab. We started using them Mid April and I have just placed an order for another pallet load as we are nearly out. I was very sceptical that they would work......how can a cartridge be "quiet"??? Well, I set my son off with a box of 25 normal carts while I went 250m away with a noise meter. And yes it picked up the carts 65 to 80db recorded. Game Bore state these carts cant be picked up on a noise meter after 300m, so I set him off with our "quiet" carts and went to the same location as before. The difference was Unbelievable!! The noise meter just sat still only moving with bird noise and a guy in the village chain sawing logs. Yes you could hear shooting but it sounded like it was miles! so to say I was pleased is an understatement. The Icing on the cake for all our troubles was a text message from the complainant to say him and his wife had spent a day in the garden while our shoot was going on and the noise difference was huge, thankyou. He has also spoken with the investigation team and said he is happy for what we have done. They intern appreciate our resolving the matter, and at this moment no further action will be taken. If anyone ever finds themselves in the same situation, I do recommend working together with all parties amicably to reach the best outcome. Luckily our complainant was user friendly and happy to give me time to make a difference and find out a best solution. No body likes to be complained about, or told things have to change, I certainly did not. But by talking and listening to all parties we have now made a future proof solution. I would like to say a massive than you to Gamebore, without their help I just don't know what we could have done to comply. All the best Allister and all at Watch Hill Shooting Ground
  4. Hello to you All, Allister here form Watch Hill Shooting Ground, I stumbled upon this post and would just like to say a few things in regards. Firstly many thanks to Scully for the kind words and advertisement in previous posts it is very much appreciated by us all. It is an unfortunate situation we are in but one that any ground could face. Everyone has a right to complain, that's just life. I need to say that the person who has made the complaint has been very amicable in the whole thing. We have talked face to face and they do not want closure or other restrictions they just want the noise reduced. The topography of our landscape makes this hard as there is almost a clear line of sight from us to them. Our local environment agency, although very firm have also been very fare also. It has been a very uncomfortable time for us all with the need to make dramatic changes to reduce the noise. However discovering the Cartridges Gamebore could manufacture for to us, only because we are in this situation has been the best solution possible as these are used at several other grounds down country and have a proven record with other local authorities to back this up. We have tested these cartridges with a noise meter and they truly do work, although at 300m away you can hear them, the noise meter did not move above the ambient reading. We know this is unfortunate and not everyone will be happy to use them but they will hopefully future proof us from further complaints. Every body is welcome at Watch Hill. It is only family that run the ground. My brother Russell was the shooter and we have shot clays on our farm since teenagers. He started the shooting ground and I was asked by all the patrons to keep it going after his tragic passing 10 years ago. Watch Hill Shooting Ground is our passion but more importantly our connection to Russ, and We will do everything possible we can to cement its future foe all to enjoy. Thanks if you read this, if you want more info our ground is an face book under its name. Take care all, Allister and all at Watch hill shooting ground. Ps, HantsRob I had to borrow the money to be able to buy 25000 cartridges (minimum order for specials). An "opportunity" I could have done without!
