  1. Once you have decided on a make and model, do a Google search for the best price, you will be amazed at the price differentials and who is selling the cheapest.

    Suprisingly, its often Argos.

:good: Try www.pricerunner.co.uk for price comparisons as well.

  2. Nice job mate, I'm currently planning and drawing

up my next one. Finding it hard to get tanning hide though

Try the tandy leather factory or le prevo - a google search will bring them up. The trouble is you have usually got to buy at least 10 square feet or so of it which isn't too cheap. Either that, or have a look on ebay.

And once again, another great knife Paul. Is there a sheath to go with it??

  3. I voted 2 and 5. I have owned knives since I was about 12 so for about 7/8 years, maybe longer and only ever carry one with me if I have a legitimate reason. I wouldn't consider doing anything illegal with them - it's just not worth it.

The only thing I ever did with a knife that upset someone was carve a game of noughts and crosses in my wardrobe door :hmm: My parents just got a bit angry, lol.

  4. I made a handle for an old blade Dad had in the garage. When I'm next home, I'll try and get a picture to upload. I'm also getting some more knifemaking materials for Christmas hopefully. It's really satisfying completing a project like it.

Search for British Blades forum - plenty of useful information on there.

  5. That is pretty bad stuff.

Our dog got attacked by a border terrier when she was a pup. Dad just grabbed it and threw it back at the owner telling him to put it under control. Our dog still scurries past the house that it used to live at!! It eventually got put down because it attacked other dogs in our village. The lad next door even got bitten when he tried to break up the same terrier and his dog. I find it hard to believe that people with aggressive dogs don't keep them under control.

Hope your dog makes a full and speedy recovery.

  6. I have got this air rifle and it too was my first. In fact I got it last year for my birthday in December. I would say £185 isn't a bad price for it. Mine was £249, which included rifle, scope, scope mounts and pellets.

It is a great gun to use, not the lightest but it's good build quality being Weihrauch. I have got good groups with it as well. The cocking mechanism i.e. breaking the barrel and pulling it down is slightly stiff at first but mine loosened up after a little while of being used.

I have found it to be a good starter air rifle and will use it for a few more years, before investing in a PCP.

If it feels right for you, then go for it. :good:

  7. Showing you the last picture you took should be able to be changed in the camera's menu. You should be able to turn off automatic playback of last picture taken.

As for the lens retracting after taking a photo, I have no clue. I would hazard a guess as to say it is a faulty camera.

If you are looking for a new one, I have neve had a problem with Canon's. Get a Canon Powershot or Ixus. Relatively straightforward to use (they must be if my Dad can operate one :good: )

  8. My border collie used to pee a bit when she young and got over excited when greeting someone. As I seem to remember she just grew out of it. I'm no expert on dogs though so don't just take my word for it. As for the chewing of stones, my dog never did anything like that so can't really comment. The only advice I can give is to keep on eye out to make sure none are swallowed.

  9. I went along today for a bit, it was the best fair I have been to this year. Plenty of shows in the arenas, I wouldn't necessarily tell you to avoid anything, just see what takes your fancy.

I only bought at a couple of stalls and there were cash or cheque although I did see other stalls with card machines. May as well take both along.

    Enjoy it.

  10. I was thinking exactly the same thing.

In my opinion the guy was a complete idiot. And then he blames the 3 misses on the boat rocking!! If he wasn't happy with it rocking then he should never have taken the shot. Simple as that.

  11. £30,000?!? Wow, that is some serious money!!!

Sorry for sounding stupid, :P but how is the winner determined because each bird obviously goes to their own home and they are not all destined for the same place. Is there an official judge who travels to your house once you say the pigeon is there to determine that it is actually there??
