    Unknown song

Sounds like AC/DC Back in Black to me. sjk
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7824153.stm You could be in luck.......if you are prepared to travel that is. sjk
  3. Just out of interest, does anyone know what will happen to the dogs?? Will they be given back to the owner, re-homed or put into kennels??? sjk

    What camera?

Try www.pricerunner.co.uk for price comparisons as well. sjk
  5. So sorry to hear that. My heartfelt sympathies. sjk
  6. 23,020 I think I spent too much time on it sjk
  7. Just had a few Corona with Lime sjk
  8. Try the tandy leather factory or le prevo - a google search will bring them up. The trouble is you have usually got to buy at least 10 square feet or so of it which isn't too cheap. Either that, or have a look on ebay. And once again, another great knife Paul. Is there a sheath to go with it?? sjk
  9. I voted 2 and 5. I have owned knives since I was about 12 so for about 7/8 years, maybe longer and only ever carry one with me if I have a legitimate reason. I wouldn't consider doing anything illegal with them - it's just not worth it. The only thing I ever did with a knife that upset someone was carve a game of noughts and crosses in my wardrobe door My parents just got a bit angry, lol. sjk
  10. I made a handle for an old blade Dad had in the garage. When I'm next home, I'll try and get a picture to upload. I'm also getting some more knifemaking materials for Christmas hopefully. It's really satisfying completing a project like it. Search for British Blades forum - plenty of useful information on there. sjk

    Stolen Quad

Good news, sounds like someone took it for a bit of spin and messed up!! Idiots. sjk
  12. That is pretty bad stuff. Our dog got attacked by a border terrier when she was a pup. Dad just grabbed it and threw it back at the owner telling him to put it under control. Our dog still scurries past the house that it used to live at!! It eventually got put down because it attacked other dogs in our village. The lad next door even got bitten when he tried to break up the same terrier and his dog. I find it hard to believe that people with aggressive dogs don't keep them under control. Hope your dog makes a full and speedy recovery. sjk

    Common sense

What really anoys me is drivers who don't acknowledge you when you let them out of a junction etc. What does it take to just stick your hand up to say thanks?!?! sjk
  14. Another excellent read. It may seem a bit daft but how do you know if a stag is 12 years old or more?? sjk
  15. I have got this air rifle and it too was my first. In fact I got it last year for my birthday in December. I would say £185 isn't a bad price for it. Mine was £249, which included rifle, scope, scope mounts and pellets. It is a great gun to use, not the lightest but it's good build quality being Weihrauch. I have got good groups with it as well. The cocking mechanism i.e. breaking the barrel and pulling it down is slightly stiff at first but mine loosened up after a little while of being used. I have found it to be a good starter air rifle and will use it for a few more years, before investing in a PCP. If it feels right for you, then go for it. sjk
  16. Here is the full story http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_y...ire/7688929.stm Life should mean just that. No early release for "good behaviour" :yp: sjk
  17. Cracking write-up, I enjoyed that read. Nice result as well, sjk
  18. An excellent first stick Andy My first stick left a bit to be desired on the joints It's quite an addicting hobby mind, watch your house fill with half-finished and completed sticks - if you're anything like me that is. sjk
  19. Jacket potato baked in the oven, with loads of butter on it and tuna mayo. sjk
  20. Excellent write-up yet again. Thanks, very informative sjk
  21. Showing you the last picture you took should be able to be changed in the camera's menu. You should be able to turn off automatic playback of last picture taken. As for the lens retracting after taking a photo, I have no clue. I would hazard a guess as to say it is a faulty camera. If you are looking for a new one, I have neve had a problem with Canon's. Get a Canon Powershot or Ixus. Relatively straightforward to use (they must be if my Dad can operate one ) sjk
  22. My border collie used to pee a bit when she young and got over excited when greeting someone. As I seem to remember she just grew out of it. I'm no expert on dogs though so don't just take my word for it. As for the chewing of stones, my dog never did anything like that so can't really comment. The only advice I can give is to keep on eye out to make sure none are swallowed. sjk
  23. I went along today for a bit, it was the best fair I have been to this year. Plenty of shows in the arenas, I wouldn't necessarily tell you to avoid anything, just see what takes your fancy. I only bought at a couple of stalls and there were cash or cheque although I did see other stalls with card machines. May as well take both along. Enjoy it. sjk
  24. I was thinking exactly the same thing. In my opinion the guy was a complete idiot. And then he blames the 3 misses on the boat rocking!! If he wasn't happy with it rocking then he should never have taken the shot. Simple as that. sjk

    pigeon racing

£30,000?!? Wow, that is some serious money!!! Sorry for sounding stupid, but how is the winner determined because each bird obviously goes to their own home and they are not all destined for the same place. Is there an official judge who travels to your house once you say the pigeon is there to determine that it is actually there?? sjk
