I popped into a gun shop yesterday to look at the boys toys!! From my previous threads on the quest for a 223, I mentioned I had picked up pretty much everything, and felt the Tikka t3 lite was the favourite. Well, in the rack today was a Howa 1500 sporter, synthetic stock. Knowing it was very much at the budget end, I expected it to be a pile.............!!!!! I picked it out and it shouldered like a dream! The balance was perfect and the stock fitted as good as a custom job!! The bolt seemed to be as well machined as any other in the group, the blueing and finish was faultless, barrel clearly free floating. And the price...........£460!! Online research throws up virtually no negative points................So what's the pw opinion on the Howa?
