  1. Well it was time for some fresh wheat drilling shooting this weekend so off we set at 7am and what a day was to be had, not a Red letter day but very enjoyable! About 300 birds got off the first field as we pulled up and the day looked to be off to a good start. The pigeons were playing hard ball most of the day and not many would decoy so they were shot whilst flying over the pattern. A few rooks kept flying about and we finished the bag with 15 in the tally plus a jay 65 pigeons were picked up and a few more stragglers either flew away or dropped around us on the headland. Have shot well over 200 woodies over the last month or so and things are looking up at last! The dogs was completely knackered come the end but she enjoyed herself with a good bit of practice ready for the Pheasants Weve still got a few fields with wheat to be combined and will be setting up over those areas this weekend as there was many birds building on those fields so hopefully another good weekend to come? Oh and not to forget i shot these birds with my new AYA 25 who says 25 inch barrels doesnt have a long range!!!! TBH i am shocked just how this gun performs in a hide and takes birds out at some lovely long distances equal to any other gun i have fired. Try one and you mught be surprised? You dont need a 30 or 32 inch barrel when you can do the lot with a lovely little 25 incher........
