Here's a film of two recent outings, which shows the highs and lows of pigeon shooting.
One field, peas, I watched on many occasions and was showing plenty of birds in the spot I shot from. The other, an old cover crop, I noticed had a few birds on the other day and thought it could be worth a go.
The peas I thought would be good, but unfortunately it must have been shot earlier in the week as the birds were shy of the area - even though they had been feeding there for several days.
The cover crop clearly had not been shot as the birds behaved impeccably, decoying well for a few hours. I lost three birds but all the rest were picked. The new cover has yet to be drilled so I may get another session on this plot.
No apologies for the music.
