  1. Had a morning out on the stubble field today hoping to get among the geese again. Only three of us made it shooting today despite a few others being asked. Seems work is taking up too much of some peoples time. It was a dull and misty start to the morning with not much wind. It stayed that way most of the morning with poor visibility. A few duck were flying about early on but they were going into a neighboring field to feed. Two mallard were shot early morning but the ducks were mostly far away from us. One of the team had to leave early morning and so two were left. We stuck it out for another couple of hours hoping the mist would clear. When it finally did we saw one skein of geese in the distance and it never came near. After another hour waiting to see if anything was about we decided to call it a day. During our last hour the neighboring farmer started to plough the field were the ducks were feeding. This could possibly push them onto where we shoot for another day. We ended up with just the two ducks that were taken earlier in the morning. We enjoyed it even though it was a slow day.
