As no one took up the offer to have a go pigeon shooting today i started the day slowly.
I did not rush out this morning but got out for just after 10am.
I decided to look around to see if there were any pigeons about.
Went to two farms and i saw about eight pigeons.
So decided to go for a look at the maize strips on another farm.
Got there and they were spraying them with slurry but i noticed a lot of pigeons in the wood near a game strip.Which was a shame as i decided it was not worth setting up in case they came to spray the strip i would be on.
So i moved on another 14 miles and finally settled down with my decoys on grass hoping to pull some pigeons off a flight line that i saw.
It was only then that i realised i had left my coat and face mask at home.
It was a slow start then the rain and hail started on and off during the afternoon.
First two pigeons i got were put on the rotary. Then i just brought my decoys in and replaced them with dead birds.
Nearly packed up at 1330 because of the rain and cold but stuck it out.
Ended the day with 22 wood pigeons and glad i stuck it out as it was worth it.
