  1. Two of us met up this morning for a session on the pigeons. It looked promising when we arrived with a few pigeons feeding on the pea leaves. I put out some portec bird scarers at one end of the field and near a road to try and keep the birds from landing in that area. We then got set up on opposite sides of the field in the hope of keeping any birds around moving. But there were not the pigeons about that we had hoped for. We had a couple of pigeons just after setting up but it turned out to be a steady day and hard work. The birds today were not committing to the decoys as you would like. Most of the time it was a quick fly by without stopping so it was a day of awkward shooting. But it was a nice day to be out and we kept dry.Just packing in and getting the gear in the transport just before a really heavy thunderstorm hit us. We finished the day with 29 woodpigeon,1 crow,1 rook and 2 jackdaws.
