  1. An early start again this morning saw five of us meet up for a mornings goose shooting. Thankfully the rain had stopped so that was a plus to start. We set up in the dark and waited for the geese to appear. It started well and it was just getting light when the first lone goose decoyed straight into the pattern. The geese were flying high this morning and we saw a good few skeins but they were mostly flying away from us. The wind did turn it a bit chilly later in the morning even though it was a bright sunny morning. Should have had the handwarmers going this morning. We did manage to get 5 Greylags and 4 Canada geese so not too bad a morning out. We will have another few goes at the geese but it will be next year before some of us meet up. We are all looking forward to the next few weeks goose flights. But for now we will drown our sorrows with beer.
