  1. I'm sat in Austria waiting for my last but one flight of the week and got to thinking about last weekend. A couple of weeks ago Mel b3 had a couple of guns for sale. I couldn't help myself and ended up buying one, this wasn't helped by the fact that Mel is a rubbish sales man and managed to knock the price down before I'd even opened my mouth ;-). The purchase included an offer of giving it a go just to make sure I was happy. This 'give it a go' was me driving to the back end of Wolverhampton and attempting to hit a couple of Pigeons, something I've always wanted to do but never managed. I really want to thank Mel for the opportunity. I've met him once and spoken to him a couple of times but this was a real generous offer. I'm a complete beginner but Mel was good enough to go through the basics with me, explaining a bit about decoying, best practices and even how to neck a wounded bird, hopefully without pulling its head off! End of the day I had a great couple of hours and shot around 10 birds although I ended up taking 20+ home. It was a weak effort against Mels 120+ but it mean't a lot to me. It took me about a hour to breast those damn pigeons and my garden is covered in feathers. Still worth it tho'. Cheers Matey.
