  1. Hello all, After having an unsuccessful day over the pond at the weekend I planned to revisit this morning to pursue the duck and geese. ( My brothers permission, disco Stu ) Cutting a long story short ( and showing my inexperience ) I lay in wait for the first flight of the morning. This came in after 20 minutes which was a real thrill...I could hear the ducks coming, all six of them. They dropped in from above my head ( shooting into wind ) without so much of a flutter. I picked the duck at the back of the cluster and took my shot. The bird dropped for my first duck ever and I sent my lab for her first ever live water retrieve. I must say, she was excellent. I sent her in the direction and she was right on it, clasped her jaws and brought it straight back to hand...a proud moment to say the least. After this first flight I couldn't sit still, constantly looking around flashing my big white face into the skies above! ( lesson learned ). After 30mins of waiting I could hear the canada geese coming...uncontrollable figiting scared them off course........ and then I got up out the hide to have a wonder....and another flight of duck came in, around 8. I scared them off too.................. I managed to dust a couple of crows too for the farmer. Happy days!
