  1. I was at a farm today scouting for pigeons and i was just going to turn up a track in the truck.I then glanced through the windscreen a rather large bird flying low to the ground carrying something in its claws. At first i thought it was a buzzard but on stopping the truck saw it was a carrion crow and then it dropped a young live rabbit on to the track. The young rabbit made a run for the fence and long grass at the side of the track but the carrion crow swooped and got the rabbit in its claws again. It flew on for a few yards and the rabbit once again fell to the ground but this time made it to the long grass. The crow landed on the fence and was so intent on looking for the rabbit,i had time to get out of the truck load the shotgun and i shot the carrion crow while it was still on the fence.I then found the rabbit in the grass and necked it and took it back home for the ferrets.
