Went for a ride out to see if anything was about at a couple of farms i shoot on. I was not expecting the maize to have been cut as they usually leave it a couple more weeks. It looked like it had been cut down for a short while as the cobs had been well pecked at. I rode around a couple of farms and saw some pigeons and a few crows landing in one part of a strip of the maize cover. I watched for around an hour and decided to set up and have a go at 1400hrs. Packed in at 1630hrs and picked up 16 woodpigeon and 12 ferals. So not a bad few hours though it did quieten from 1600hrs. Considering i was not planning on stopping out i had a good couple of hours.
