  1. Arranged to meet up with Stuart for a look round a farm we got permission to go on last week. It was the first time this year that i decided to go without putting the thermals on and it was the right choice. It was a sunny start to the day and it got warmer and we did not even need jackets. We walked the hedges first but a lot of the holes were at the side of ditches with holes coming out in the ditch just above water level. So we left those as we did not fancy having to dig deep down if the ferret killed underground as there are a few young rabbits starting to show. We only got 10 today and three of those were small ones as we were picky about which holes to ferret as it is getting late in the season for ferreting. The farmer did come and tell us he had rang the farmer next door and we could do his hedges as well. We actually gave that a miss as it was late but told the farmer we could go round one night on the quad bike lamping and shoot a few.The farmer was happy with that and told us to fill our boots. So we will. Only nine in the picture as Stuarts dog Molly ate one of the small ones.
