  1. Last night i was starting to think i had been let down by a pw member i had arranged to take out today. But at 2130 the phone rang and i stopped cursing and the day was on. We met up at 0800 and did not have to travel far to where we were going to shoot. Once again it was very windy and cold so the main priority was to get some shelter. We had a good eight hundred yard walk to set up as we had to make two trips with the gear. This was the first time i had shot this field this year and we did see pigeons flying past. The morning was steady and we managed about 20 pigeons by noon. The problem was you had a shot and they were off. It went quieter in the afternoon and we got another eight pigeons and a crow. The birds were still in flocks but the odd one was coming to look at the decoys. They pigeons seemed to be more interested than earlier in the week.So if the weather picks up the flocks might start to break up a bit. Ended today with 27 wood pigeon,1 feral and 1 crow.
