I went for a look around most of our land this afternoon very disappointing the lack of birds on the drillings that had been done still plenty left to go in yet though, I found a trickle of birds going into the corner of a rape field that is very bare, I shot 14 on it sat, I decided to give it a go but after 30mins and 1 bird in the bag it wasn't going to happen, the old fella was out looking at a local perm that was drilled the other day and rang me to say there was a few pigeons and crows on it so I packed up and headed over, he took my 10 year old nephew with him he's been out with us a few times in the hide and had quite a few shots on the clays practice stand,
I joined them about 3.15pm they had a few crows and pigeons down, I set my rotary up and extended the hide and settled in for a few hours not hectic sport but a bit of shooting all 3 of us had sport we let the lad finish off any wounded blacks and pigeons with the air arms s200, he's not bad at all with it few misses but expected at that age
final tally 14 mixed blacks and 9 woodies
