Mickley hall shooting school and Eley hawk are hosting the 50 bird Olympic challenge on Saturday the 23rd august. It's billed as a fun day with byley air rifle club in attendance for you to have a go, archery challenge, BBQ and loads of refreshments. The main event will be 50 sporting competition sponsored by Eley hawk, Olympic cartridges are to be used and 50 cartridges are part of the entry fee of £20. The new club house is up and there will be loads to see and do for all shooters and family. Open from 10am till 5pm last comp card 3:30 pm. Set out this morning with my young son and a 10 month old black lab bitch. Some may say I'm asking for trouble,but, we have a very small area drilled with barley early week,so a bit late but there were a few birds flying round yesterday. Set up a large hide,nets and a few fresh branches,settled the boy down with a bit of grub and my old hat and waited. Beautiful weather and we finished with a small bag of 13. But the dog fetched three and was very patient and my son got to learn a whole load of stuff about listening to his teachers and not day dreaming about being out with his dad whilst he should be doing maths. He could tell me how many more I needed to beat my PB but that was an easy number. They are both asleep now but what a cracking day we all had. I love trying to shoot pidgeons and coming home with dinner is a real bonus.
