  1. These birds need all the help we can give in whatever way? Consider swift bricks in new builds? Consider swift and swallow boxes/cups if you have the locations suitable? If feeling particularly chirpy maybe try to get your council planning department to make the provision and maintenance of swift and swallow nesting facilities a prime condition of the planning requirement for all new builds where the conditions are suitable? High rise buildings etc. Sadly a while ago I failed locally. It seemed that the usual negativity surfaced quickly to whinge about a bit of bird mess on buildings, pavements and peoples coats was more important than anything else? I was preoccupied at the time so let it go. Thinking of waking them up again soon.. Help if you can, only 1 pair screaming locally last year, they didn't stay as as lots of the older properties have been bought up and tarted up to block traditional nesting sites, progress? Thanks for looking...........and acting?
