hi all well the weather has certainly picked up that means another good weekend with the shooting. after finding out that a fellow pw member mr (bunny blaster) is linked to one of my farms we had a few messages back and forth and he kindly offered me a nights shooting and a chance to play with his archer i obviously couldn't resist .. i met up with ben had a quick chat and of we where along some lovely country side in his old landy he told me we where heading to a farm that always produced foxes as it was a sheep farm i guess there is always pickings around especially at this time of year. well within 200 yards from the car i stopped Ben in his tracks - a fox had just come out of the hedge 20 yards in front of us within 2 seconds i lifted the gun and dropped the dog on the spot with a nice front on chest shot i said to Ben sorry mate i sort of just jumped on that one no probs he said laughing.. windows 7 screen shot after a quick pic we carried on a journey to the next field . we found a nice place to sit with a good view and just waited having a chat and the odd call. it weren't long before a second fox was making its way across the field to our right Ben clocked it first but told me to take it so i lay down found the fox in the scope and placed a shot .. second fox down a vixen this time but with no Sign on breeding.. upload foto we stayed on the spot for i would say another 45 min but we brought no more in so ben decided we would try a few more fields. that's when the nv came out we unfortunately didn't spot a fox but my god are them archers good for the money i would expect it but it really does put the odds in your favor. once again we moved onto our last fields for the night it was a nice place with a big woodland cover on the far bank so we new one would be called out of there.. within 15-20min we had another fox making his way into the call i said to Ben pass me your night master and get ready the fox was now on top of us but as the lamp hit him fully he turned and made an escape but with a shout he stopped and Ben took a cracking standing freehand shot and dropped the fox at around 60 yards . fair play another dog in the bag and the end to a lovely night. upload foto i would just like to thank Ben for a nice evening hes a good honest lad that is into his sport as much as me a new friend against the foxes . thanks mate
