  1. Just had a phonecall from what sounded like a Chinese lady. Would I donate clothes etc etc to Help for Heroes or make a donation by creditcard or debitcard? No thank you I don't think so! 1471 said phone number 000000000. Have informed Help for Heroes press office who said they don't operate like this. Pass it on guys please. Edit 12.00 Just had a call from Help for Heroes and this seems to be happening in the North East at the moment with reports from Billingham, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Newcastle areas. I have informed local police and will ring the local press as well I think.
  2. We have just held our 4th intro to Clay Shooting for youngsters day, and enjoyed the best weather so far. Total number of youngsters attending over the 4 month period the scheme has been running has now reached 165 , some have been repeat visitors but in the main new shooters. Ages have ranged from 6 years old (using 9mm garden gun at static tartgets) through to 14/15 years of age (a surprising number of adult non shooters who have brought the youngsters have wanted a try as well). Some of the youngsters have gone on to having lessons, and a number of youngsters that cannot make the day (second Sunday of each month) have come along on differing days and we have been able to accomodate; in fact on June 23rd we have a party of 40 young girls coming along, with another party of young girls of a similar number arranging a date to come along as well. From the 1 stand we use, we can offer a slow going away target, a high incrossing incomer left to right, these can then be taken as report pair, and then as a simultaneous pair, depending on ability. BASC have been very supportive with little give aways and information booklets, the Shooting Diary in particular has gone down very well. Local Gun Shops have also been supportive by advertising the day. The biggest thank you though must go to Claudio and Theresa the owners of the ground for allowing this little scheme to operate. The flier we have been using to advertise the day is being re vamped courtesy of handlebar, I will post it up as soon as I receive it.
