I recently bought a ward d 800 complete with B672 black sun illuminator. I am still getting used to it but range and clarity are great but I think the set up could be much improved if I could reduce the overall weight of the unit, which is mounted on a Weihrauch hmr. Most of the weight coming from the illuminator and in particular the head unit with its goldfish bowl size lens.
The laser illuminators look to have good range and battery life and would probably reduce the weight of the set up.
Will a laser work with the Ward?
If anyone use a laser on a ward that could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
Does the wavelength matter? Can the beam match / get close to the field of view of a scope?
Is there likely to be much of a weight saving or should i just get a smaller ir torch?
