Birdboy
Recently purchased my first .243, a Steyr Pro Hunter, with T4 mod (already on it) and having walked around with it for the last few months, im really disappointed with the weight of it. I find it uncomfortably heavy. Anyway, Im thinking about changing the rifle to a lightweight .243, like perhaps the Tikka T3 light, but this time, Im thinking of not buying a mod. I would appreciate your thoughts on a lightwieght .243 and also how many of you use a sound mod on a .243. Thanks BB
mikee
my .243 ruger m77 is quite heavy with the mod on, but personally i would sooner carry the weight for the benefits a mod gives when actually shooting, if i was humping it up and down mountains i would probably throw the mod and get a balsa wood stock but as i dont have to carry it any real distance i accept the extra burden mikee
chris d
hi mate, got a tikka hunter in 243 with 19" barrel and predator 8 mod nice light ,well ballanced combination even with the mod on. the tikka lite with a mod on becomes very front heavy (due to having a hollow butt) you could put some lead in it to ballance it up.stick with a moderater cos a 243 is bloody loud without one! hope this helps. Mr_Logic
Could try one of the titanium mods that are out, they are amazingly light and may cure the desire to change rifle.
