hendersons
I had a evenings fishing with a freind of mines son today. It was his first trip ever at the ripe old age of six, so i wasn't expecting much. Perhaps a few minutes fishing then thought he would lose patience. I took him to a boat channel just off the upper thames to see if we could catch anything. For the first time in years i set off with just a match rod a few wagglers and a pint of mixed in the hope of getting him a few bites. We managed to catch a few Roach then a couple of perch and finally a chub of around a pound and a half. He loved the whole experience and by the time i dropped him off he was asking if i could take him along next time i go fishing. Now i don't know about you but when was the last time some of you guys tried fishing in such a simple manner just for anything that comes along, I found it a bit of a revelation and a very nice change from chasing single species specimens with complicated baits and tackle at various times of the year whether they be barbel, pike, zander or bream and tench as these have all seem to be a bit of a obsession over the last few seasons. So for all of you anglers out there i can thoroughly reccomend a simple day bit bashing it took me right back to how it all began for me.
