clutey
Carrying on from the earlier post (Below par at skeet with a skeet gun). I went to my usual shooting ground on Thursday as I was walking from my car to the meeting room, one of the owners who runs the onsite shop stops with me and says I know that wee 26" skeet gun doesn't suit you, come up to the shop and have a look at one I just got in. Into the shop he brings out this 28" Miroku 800 sw skeet gun, a real cracker, pristine condition. He tells me, his father sold this gun to a guy 31 years ago. The day the guy collects the gun he takes a quick lesson on the range with the father, simply because he had never handled or shot any type of gun before. He shot 75 rounds that day and never fired a shot since. Apparently he was a jeweller and just wanted a gun in the house for security. Remember at that time we were right in the middle of the troubles here, so it does makes sense. The box it came in was there, so was the instruction manual the proof certificate, all sorts of paperwork plus a sew on Miroku badge never used. This badge is a cracker it's 4 and 1/2 inches in diameter bright red background yellow border with the dark blue printing on it, nothing like todays Miroku badge colour scheme. Anyhow the gun is brand new and 31 yrs old, if you know what I mean. I took it down onto the range put the guns fourth box of shells through it, hit a 23 so now I'm the proud owner of a 800sw grd 3. First time I've been in the right place at the right time, lovely lovely gun and that's coming from a Beretta man. PS.. I'm now wondering if that unused old Miroku badge could now be a collectors item?? Edited October 25, 2009 by clutey
