mattslaptop247
Has anyone tried the canny collar? I've just got one for Purdey. He was pulling on his lead, even with his choke chain. I'd tried plenty of lead work, ie. 4-5 times a day, but we weren't making much progress. Anyway, I was speaking to my neighbour who has a lab and she recomended this canny collar. Well I got one off amazon at the princely on £15.50, and today it arrived. I popped it on him. It consists of a conventional collar with an additional strap that loops over the nose / muzzle area then runs along the collar through some D rings, at either end of the strap are 2 more D rings to which you clip your lead. It sounds more complicated than it is. To cut a long story short, this thing is amazing. He walks perfectly with it on. He tried to paw it off his nose initially, but he soon got used to it. I'm not a rep, honestly, but if you have any problems getting your dog to heal try one of these. They come in different sizes, but if you want a second hand one and they have one the right size, you can pick them up on fleabay for about £4. Obviously its no substitute for training, but I'm hoping he gets the idea, long term, so that I can get him back on his choker.
Jurrasicway
I had the same problem and fixed it using a slip lead but making the nose bit by twisting it into a figure of 8 and putting the back bit over his head and the front bit over his muzzel Put lead on as normal Give it more slack Twist the loop into a figure of 8 Put front loop over muzzel Tighten from the back Hey presto It worked really well but after three months when I only use a slip he still pulls a little. I am now using a long thin piece of willow to tap him on the snout when he gets too far forward. Fourth day in - so far so good Good luck
