Devilishdave
Has any one got or tried a Sako Quad? if so what do you recon to it? I am considering getting one with .22lr and .17HMR barrels. Is it a cheeper method of owning two guns or a pure gimick? what other pros and cons do people see with them? Dave
Big Dog
Though of it but was told by my dealer/s that in N. Ireland I would have little chance of getting 2 rimfires on my ticket. I tuned into a USA forum and some good feedback there. Sorry I can't remember the site.
Gemini
I think that it’s nothing more than a gimmick Dave. I have the Sako Finnfire in .22rf and recently I nipped into Webley to enquire about a .17mach 2 barrel as this could be used without any modifications to the existing layout. I was quoted @ £255 for the barrel+ proof etc. I can buy a new CZ .17hmr for that price. G.M.
Rabbitbowler
I read only good things about the quad exept for the price and the fact that every time you change the barrel you have to re-zero
the last engineer
this may help you Dave , ive not tried it but friends of mine have ,they speak highly of the system ,me im interested in the engineering aspect more than the use , my own 4 barrel set ( Miroku) is way differant, but the concept is the same. hope it helps http://www.berettausa.com/product/spotligh...t_sako_quad.htm http://www.sako.fi/quad_accessories.html http://www.sako.fi/quad_sighting.html Martin
Big Dog
Devilishdave if it is quality you mean then I think that is a given, Sako quality. If it is for shooting, although I seriously though a 17 hmr was a good mix with my .22lr, can't get 2 rimmies on, I think a 22 Hornet or .222 is better although more expensive to feed. The Hornet will give you the same and better range with less wind impact, but still not out there with big range or noise. Just my thought, not telling you what to do :*)
Devilishdave
Yeh just want the .17hmr for the long range rabbits at the back end of the season getting a .223 for fox. Dave
