goldypurple
Hi all Does anyone on here know anything about this make of shotgun, the make is Armi silma and i think the model is a Gardone. I bought one over the weekend in a 20g. Im trying to find out a little about them. And also where i can get some choke tubes for it. thanks andy
John_R
I have a 20g Silma Pantera, not a bad little gun at all. Gardone is the town in Italy where they are based, so I doubt that is the the gun model. They do have a website, www.silma.net and when I emailed them a few questions I got answers after a bit of a wait.
goldypurple
ok thanks for the info, how do i tell what model it is? andy
John_R
I'd compare with as much as you can find on the web site, and if you draw a blank email them with as much info as you can give them. Did you get the box with it? The label should give the model number, I honestly cannot recall if that is also stamped anywhere on the gun itself. goldypurple
hi no box im affraid, not alot of info on the gun itself and not alot of info on the web. the metal work on the gun stock has on one side duck in flight the underneath has a dog and i think the other side is snipe/woodcock. is this the same as yours andy
John_R
I'll take a look later. I think my model number is 50, but cannot be 100% sure so will have to be reminded. *later* OK, the model number does not appear on the gun itself! I would drop them an email (info@silma.net) and give them the serial number and ask whatever questions you have. They are helpful if a little slow. I asked about choke markings and if they had a manual for mine, and got a manual some weeks later. You should see the serial number both on the ironwork inside the forend as well as on the bottom of the breech block (look when the barrels are out). John_R
Did you drop them a note? From your description it sounds like one of the Model 70 variants. The engraving on mine has ducks on both sides and a dog underneath, no woodcock.
goldypurple
Yeah i did mail them but nothing heard back yet. It could well be, mine may have ducks both sides i cant remember. Thanks for looking it sounds similar, only fired it once and dropped a lovely high pheasant with it on sat. I bought it from auction, nice tidy gun clean no rust or dents in wood or anything, only got 2 chokes that are fitted in the gun, i paid 190 for it, i dont know if thats a good price. John_R
I took my first ever pheasants with mine back in January on Beaters' day. To be honest it does not fit me as well as I first thought, and I am keeping it partly in case my wife wants to shoot, and partly for sentimental reasons! I also have tons of ammo for it, so with a comb raiser and a butt pad it does OK, but my other guns get more use.
