Currently, UK Law prohibits the sale of air weapons, parts thereof, ammunition of and knives to persons under the age of 18.

Im sorry to ask and i hope it dont make me sound stupid.

I am seventeen and hold valid shotgun and firearms licences.

A slot on my FAC is a fac ratted .22 air rifle does that mean although i could purchase, and have done a 22lr, 17hmr ect. i cannot purchase this air rifle till next year??

A FAC rated airgun is not classed as a 'Air weapon' (As banned for sale for under 18's) but as a firearm, and is perfectly legal to be bought by someone of 17 years and older (with licences etc).

 

This is as long as the Air-rifle you own is written onto your FAC.
