  1. Used to have a summer job in a very popular seaside chippy. Everything went through beef dripping, vegetable burgers and all.
  2. I love the thinking of the guy trying to catch it. I mean if you did (somehow) manage to get hold of it, then what? give it a telling off?
  3. It's worth mentioning that refugees have a habit of saying that they are 17 (under 18) to receive better treatment.
  4. We have lots of these bad-boys flying about Thetford way at the moment. They make a very unique sound and always require a double take when you see them flying.
  5. We talking the easy going "Walking dead zombies" or the frankly terrifying "28 days later" zombies. I don't mean to sound like a racist but I think the cultural norms they are brought up with can have a big difference on there willingness to integrate into society. Frankly I think most of them don't care about our traditions and just want us to become one of them. It's the Zomibfaction of Europe, I tell you!
  6. I think to the most part it's because getting a rifle in the first place, then getting it zeroed, is such a pain in the backside more most shooters that I don't really want to start ******* about with the optics unless it's going to be permanent. It's also a sad state that I don't really get to go target shooting for enjoyment with the bigger bores because of range restrictions/not wanting to annoy the farmer and pure cost. If I had access to the sort of shooting ranges and ammunition prices you get in the US, then I think people would see occasional iron site use as a slightly more common place. But there's still a place in my heart for shooting coins with a break-action iron site air rifle.
  7. Buy 1L of additive, 500L of fuel, mix em' then fill up your car. Simples.
  8. Thanks for the advice guys. I thought it was just best to double check, less I end up having to pull the engine again because it was an issue.
  9. I'm replacing the clutch/seals and a general clean of a 95' Miata. The person who had this car before me drove the clutch to obliteration. The pieces of clutch/bearings are being found everywhere. Along with dents in the bellhousing, the flywheel as taken on several small dents and scratches. Are these an issue? - if so what is the best way forward? http://i.imgur.com/Wzay3Bt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tdjIsRH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/D9IRCZs.jpg Thanks for your help.
  10. Ask your accountant/local financial advisor, not a bunch of grumpy middle aged men who spent their weekends hiding in bushes.
  11. I've said it a million times. Go where the pigeons are, don't be afraid to move. I always took a hide, I'd set it up - but if it wasn't working or I believed I'd do better somewhere else, I'd move! (with or without it.) It's always worth learning the tell tale signs of pigeons committing then veering off due to a poorly constructed hide spooking them, though.
  12. It always irks me how people force the perspective to make the Alligator/Wild Hog/Fish (etc) look bigger. It's obvious and doesn't work that well.
  13. I always used to play by my own 30 minute rule. If nothing promising has happened within 30 minutes, then that's probably how it's going to stay. I know it can be heart breaking taking your hide down after a short period, but it's better to turn up late in the right stop than spend all day in the wrong one.
  14. Tricky to find, but these are a reliable alternative.
  15. I always thought the the main upside to the ridges was watching beaters falling **** over tit. Place I used to work did a test crop of Hemp (no high-inducing the chemicals but looks the part) one year. It got ravaged by all the local toe-rags who took to stealing it on mass. At least the thought of them trying to smoke it still makes me smile.
  16. Yeah, I ****ed up. The calculator I used suggested a 8 grain pellet so I just went with it without checking my facts. It's interesting to see the large difference in ft/lbs and fps between 8grain .177 and 16 grain .22 though.
  17. I thought this was both educational and cool enough to post.
  18. I kid you not, but on Westminster bridge I saw a bunch of Romas "Eastern Europeans" running the cup-n-ball scam which until now I thought was only a thing found in cartoons and no one would fall for it. They had a big bunch of Chinese tourists flocking around em' too. I don't know why the police don't just nick the lot.
  19. See, I'm as good as Identifying mushrooms as the one UK's leading experts.
  20. Camouflaged strip-o-gram?
  21. Opinions of paid experts > People on the internet.
  22. If you've ever eaten Enokitake mushrooms you've eaten Velet shank, they are the same thing but the cultivated version looks completely different. I've heard some people talk about there suitability for pickling, but other than that I'd just google it.
  23. Velvet Shank. Flammulina velupties. Edible, and tasty. It's one of the few mushrooms that should be growing this time of year. Make sure it has a white spore print to cancel out nasty similar such as the Funeral Bell and Sulphur tuft. (But they only look superficially similar, and don't really grow this time of year anyhow.) The easy way to tell it apart from Oyster Mushroom is that it has much deeper gills and a slightly longer stem leading to a curved top.
  24. We used to put down a couple hundred mallard and didn't have many issues, they flew well and some would turn around mid drive and the guns would get a second go. They where in a pond surrounded by a spinney. We used to rear from day old, and they don't half stink!.
