danw
Hi, I have just bought a CZ 452 .17 HMR and looking at fitting a single piece mount and scope. I have a single piece mount that when fitted will bridge the slot where the shells are ejected. Will this cause a problem for the spent shells ejecting or make no difference? Cheers Dan
njc110381
In my opinion anything that bridges ejection ports should be avoided. It gives the spent cases something to snag on on the way out of the rifle and there's a chance it could jam it. That's not a huge issue, it just means that sometimes you may have to fiddle about a bit to reload. Just buy some two piece mounts for it, or if money is tight maybe try bolting it on there and cycling a few mags worth of rounds through it to see if it does cause a problem. There's every chance that it may not be a problem so for the time it takes to just roughly screw it on (it doesn't have to be in the right place or really tight, just on there) you could save yourself a few quid.
