hi all this is a follow on from the previos post about the springer i was getting.

i picked him up yesterday and i named him mitch after a dog that my step-dad had when i lived at home he is slowly getting used to his lead he went the night with out soiling in the kitchen and when i got up this morning he went straight out and did his buisness so i am a really proud owner.

when i can work out how to post pictures i will put some up of him.

but does it matter if he comes from a shooting back ground or not?

It helps yes, but not necessary, it wont be a problem really, as it will be down to your time and commitment when it comes to training. It will come naturally to your dog, my father had 2 springer house dogs, both were never ever hunted, house dogs around 3 year old, they turned out to be 2 off the best working dogs we ever owned.
