robmiller
Have the option to purchase this rifle. What are peoples initial thoughts? I dont want anything to go above 16psf if i add to my fac, which i know may be possible with this gun. 2 questions.... killing power over a .177 at 30 -50 yrds other is...if it was turned up to 15/16 psf what ould it be like at 40-50 yards? jackinbox99
Ive got one and am very pleased with it. I choose it over the HW100 because it was lighter, felt easier to handle (ive got the carbine version) and was cheaper. I zero mine at 35 yards and I can hit a 5p spot on pellet on pellet at that range. I mainly use mine for rabbits and have clean kills right upto 45yards. Ive had dozens of bunnies this year with it. Ive not really tried shooting targets at greater distances to see what the range of this gun is, but it certainly kills at 45yards! Power wise, mine was doing 11.6 when I got it and im happy with that. You can modify the s410 for more power if you want to put it on an FAC. But, id personally go for an FAC version, rather than modify a non FAC one.
huntercarbine
you can turn them up to around 18ftlbs which a lot of fac shooters reckon is the ideal power for a .177 . the true fac s410 can be upto 30ftlbs however. if you turn it up you can buy the fac air cylinder from air arms although they will want proof of fac, which means you won't lose shot count. at 18 ftlbs the pellet should have a flat trajectory out to 60 yards. i dont have fac but i know this because my shooting buddy is an air arms freak (whenever i mention a new gun "airarms, airarms, airarms" is all i get from him. City Airweapons in lincoln have 3 fac s410's for sale. 2 20ftlbs .177's and a (gulp) 32ftlbs .
