On my patch I have 150 acres of beans that are partially cut. I've had a few nice bags but, after arriving at the fields around 7am, by lunch time I'd only shot/seen a handful of birds.

After packing up I drove 15 miles to look over some peas that are partly harvested - bingo!! Pigeons all over them!

I set up with my face into the wind - far from perfect - and started shooting around 1pm. The birds came from all angles, over my head, from the front, the sides etc. By 8pm I had picked up 238 pigeons and 7 crows. This is the most I've ever shot on my own and left me exhausted. The birds just kept coming, ignoring dead ones in the pattern and the wind swinging through 180 degrees, making my pattern all wrong!! I suppose if they want it that bad nothing will keeep them away :shoot:

Only just got home, having run them all to the game dealer ???:)

PS I have some photos - but the old film type. Once the roll is used up I'll scan them and post them up :shoot:
