Bobbo.
Any views on the .204 caliber?
shooting charley
Hi mate I have a .204 Ruger. It is the best rifle I have ever used for fox it shoots flat and has no recoil. All in all it is a fun rifle to shoot. I shoot with friends who use 22.250’s and there is nothing they can do that I can’t with it. I load my own rounds using 40 grain Hornaday and 23.3 grains of H322 this gives me 3992 fps and sub ½ groups at 100 yards. If you need any more info please e mail me at ############ I will do my best to help. Cheers shooting charley.

dunganick
I would do a search for some posts by a member called 'Frank' He owned a .204 for a period and didnt get along with it. He switched to .223 and was a v happy bunny. I can see the appeal as a long range varmint gun. But from some of what ive read it can have questionable results on foxes, however maybe the best bet is to find someone with one to go have a look. A .222/.223 with a slow twist should shoot 40 grains well and achieve 3600/3700 FPS, but whilst having a larger choice in rifles and components. This would be my choice if you want more FPS.
