dieseldogg
I am not minded to buy online outta the UAofA, for reasons as mentioned, which I was aware of. My only consideration was given to a mate buying one in the States and bringing it over here He may then decide he does not really like it and perhaps sell it second hand. However I am currently sniffing round a second hand Leupold VX III from a dealer, as again I would be leery of buying an expensive high spec second hand scope, even off ebay with paypal. cheers (again) M
swift4me
I was a lisenced gun dealer is the US for years, and am unaware that rifle scopes are regulated in any way by the BATF or any other govt. agency. A rifle scope is like buying an egg beater. A straw purchase is when someone purchases a gun knowingly for another person who would not pass the background check. I don't see the connection. As for customs and duty, no doubt, but in this case, he has a friend who could bring it in his luggage. Rem 223, I've enjoyed hunting in Alberta alot. You live in a great place.
