HARRIS
I took my AAS400 out for some crow shooting yesterday and it got a bit wet in the rain. I got back about 5hours later and oiled the outside cylinder etc. Got it out this evening to go out but when i went to cock the bolt it was really stiff and i could barely cock it. I have oiled it but it is still stiff. It almost feels like its got rust on the bolt or the bolt is bent. Any ideas??? HARRIS
Ali-C
Did you use silicone oil on the bolt? Silicone oil will gum up metal-metal contact areas, rendering the gun well and truely shagged. Edited December 8, 2009 by Ali-C
jackinbox99
Sounds very strange as normally cocking the bolt is a very easy smooth operation. Even if it got damp inside the bolt housing and a little rust generated, i dont see that would make it as difficult as you describe to cock. Are you sure there isnt anything stuck in there? Id take it appart and have a look. Would only take a few mins, unless your anti-tamper, then its a nightmare.
HARRIS
It's loosened up now but its still noticeable. And before i used to be able to use my left hand and lean across and cock the gun but now i cant. It does nt have any problems as long as you pull the bolt direclty backwards in exact line where as before you didnt? Still a bit unsure and i dont want to strip it down because im only 15 and dont want to do something i cant undo. Harris
