dougzy
I am still trying to figure out the ins and outs of law relating to airguns in Northern Ireland, and I was wondering if anybody could enlighten me about private sales of airguns. If I bought an airgun privately could it be posted to me? And if so how could it be transferred onto the firearms certificate? Thanks
Colster
No you couldn't, unless the person delivering it was a firearms dealer or direct employee of a firearms dealer. If you have a British passport you can legally own an air-rifle in NI without a FAC but if not it would have to be face to face or RFD. More information here Basically the firearms laws are very similar to the ones in GB except they include all air-rifles over 1 joule whereas the GB limit is 16 (? - someone correct me on that if it's wrong) Edited January 3, 2010 by Colster
dougzy
Is there anyone familiar with the process of buying air guns privately, as in what stage they should be delivered and how to get them transferred onto the FAC? I'm interested in buying a Theoben Eliminator in .25 calibre and was just trying to find out the procedure, Thanks
