gyp
Hi, i could do with some advise please. I currently have a SGC and have 4 guns that i keep in a 3 gun cabinet, which works fine, however my wife has got a SGC and wants a gun so i need to get a bigger cabinet. To go with this i would like to get my FAC so I'm thinking it would be good to get a cabinet for all guns and rifles. Is this allowed? It means my wife will have access to the rifle? am i better getting a bigger shotgun cabinet and a separate Rifle cabinet? Advise please, I'm looking for the most economical way of doing it. Thanks. MC
Your wife cannot have access to your rifles unless she has her own FAC and authority to own the same rifles. You would be better off getting a larger cabinet for your guns and rifles and letting your wife ude your old cabinet.
goldypurple
personally i would have two seperate cabinets, your wife will not be allowed access to the cabinet if you have a firearms in it, if you were to share a cabinet for shotguns, you would have to have her gun on your ticket and she will have to have your guns on her ticket. well thats what our fao said, so id go for 2 cabinets

We are ok to share the shotgun cabinet though aren't we?
MC
I thought that would be the case. We are ok to share the shotgun cabinet though aren't we? Yes but as already said you have to have all guns on both tickets.
covlocks
..another FEO personal pet hate I guess. My wife and I share the same cabinet and we have our own guns on our own licences. You can't put the same guns on both licences, however as an FAC/SGC holder you can be in possession of someone elses gun with permission, as long as that FAC/SGC covers that gun, to a max of x days ( I think 5 days, but am not positive) without transfering it from one certificate to another. So in reality when she opens the cabinet she can do what she likes with my guns 'cause she has perminent permision to move or use them, and vice versa. So she could easily apply for an FAC as you have one and its end of problem, and a lot cheaper and easier than buying and finding space for another cabinet.
