JDFrain
wondering if anyone knows what the biggest (tallest) tyre is possible to fit on a 2003 ford ranger. for example would a 235 / 85 / 16 fit or cause any problems Cheers John
Conygree
Thought the 2003 4x4 had 15" rims? if so I have seen one with 31x10.5 -15" M/T's on std rims with no lift kit etc runs ok - just allow -10% on the speedo. I had a 2001 4x2 which had 205/75 -14" (27"o/d) but I lifted it and fitted 235/75- 15"(30" o/d) all around - again allow -10% ( say 27=30mph) never got a ticket in 8 yrs higher gearing no problem. I now have a L200 again lifted it a bit and run on 31x10.5 - 15" M/T's = the same o/d as the std 265/70 - 16" A/T. 265 & 10.5 are both 10.5" wide and 235 are 9" wide - the extra inch helps, I can run the L200 on 2wd in more places than the 2wd ranger - although I carried a set of snow chains, also good in mud. Hope this helps Edited January 26, 2010 by pigeon popper
