George1990
Who else had found this? We've used loads of English Sporters in plastic wad recently as they were cheap (comparitively speaking ) and were all right to shoot and did the business. Ran out and bought some at southdown, but they only had them in fibre wad, which is not normally a problem. But these kicked like mad, and were really bangy and punchy. and dirty. Ckeek's still sore and must be the cause of our awful score . Got some Hull special pigeons in fibre and these are nice to shoot. Anyone else found that? jackinbox99
Ive experienced the same sort of thing. I normally use 28g 7.5 plastic for clays, but have some 28g 7.5 fibre in the cupboard. I tried these and they were noticably punchier, louder and gave more recoil!
COACH
Yeah, they kick like a mule. Those and Claybusters are the worst cartridges for recoil on the market. But really cheap. I won`t use them unless I have my gas auto and even then they kick hard. In a game gun they will really do some damage, you will be in pain for a week or more. Anyone else found that? george a bad workman blames his tools. im not saying the english sporter is a brilliant shell, but to say they were responsible for a poor score is the oldest one in the book. im very lucky in that i notice very little recoil from any cartridge to be honest. if your stance was leaning away back you would definitely be more prone to the gun hitting you harder. put your weight on the front foot, and bury the gun into your shoulder. dont have it sitting loosely. and most fibre wads are slightly noisier etc, but not really that noticeable, i think anyway. a nice fibre shell, well they actually felt wad, is victory 480, now they are smooth to shoot. also clever t2s in fibre are a great shell. also as soon as recoil is in your head, you will tense up, and definitely start feeling it more. get it out of your head, and just look at the target, the shell will do the job if utilised correctly. George1990
Yeh they do the job, but as I say I often use fibre wads (actually prefer them) and they pose no problem. I too don't mind feeling a load of recoil, but these were different to what I normally use and caused a lot more muzzle flip.
