Popgun
Well on Monday we had the last walk round just a few mates and the keeper we ended up with 80 or so birds there were woodcock in every other bush they knew they were safe the Cocker loves to push woodcock out so he was having a great time and came home knackered,on tuesday i got the winchester SX3 out stood in a high larch wood for a few pigeon on the way in the cocker pushed out 5 woodcock and a few phesants,it was a bit windy and pigeons were flying high over the the larches after a couple of hours i packed up with 12 pigeons, this morning i breasted them off they were all nice and fat in very good nick after this hard weather, some had ivy berries and some had rape in there crops,we have about 3,000 acers of rape on the estate but i never found any pigeons on it at all. the estate shoots game 3 days a week so now thats finished may be the pigeons will hit rape and i can get the decoys out the cocker gets bored decoying and likes to go for a walk to find birds that are hit and fly on into the woods, next day out is roost shooting on sat, all the best Popgun
