SirFox
Whilst not wishing to speak ill of the deceased-lets not forget that JD was first and foremost a writer and as such prone to a little poetic licence. If you believe half the stuff written in Airgun mags then thats a shame cos most of the hunting tales are pure fantasy.I would imagine that most people see right through them and it would be interesting to know how long the average subscription lasts. Don't you speak ill of JD!! He was an expert and a brilliantly talented writer. He was truely one of a kind, and much much better that any of today's so called writers. So many today try and emulate him and his style. They fail badly. They copy him and just recycle what he had written. He was a great writer, a great angler and a true countryman. He was a master at his craft and lurcher expert also. Don't mock him! Edited February 13, 2010 by SirFox
