  1. as above, match pistol CO2 version.
  2. Lmao, fair enough mate. i can't justify shooting something completely unless i make use of it somehow (ppart from rats, i just hate rats ) squizzers taste a bit like a cross between chicken and rabbit. i skin the whole thing for it's skin as well as meat, taking the back legs of just takes 10 mins.
  3. well most of my shooting is on pigeons and squirrels, which have a clean kill zone almost half the size of a rabbit (head shots only that is). considering this, and the fact that i'm usually taking elavated shots where the trajectory is slightyl different, and sometimes even the wind, and am rangefinsing by eye, i would say on most days a maximum of 40 yards. i have killed pigeons cleanly out to 45 yards on completely windless days, but i prefer to just stalk the extra 5 yards as eveyr yard after 40 yards makes a big difference on where the pellet is going to land. all said and done, the further the range, the more things that can go wrong and the higher chance of wounding. 75% of my shots are below 35 yards and i feel much better about shooting a squirrel i have quietly stalked and got within 20 yards of and taken an easy shot than a pigeon i have taken a long range shot on. people who take silly range shots just for the hell of it arent showing respect to the quarry IMO. as i have said, the further the distance the higher the chance of wounding, so why take long shots when you can stalk closer and lessen the risk of wounding? although with modern pcp's and laser rangefinders i admit that the difference in chances of wounding from 35 yards and 45 yards are much less, but better safe than sorry is what i say.
  4. Great shooting mate! if you're having trouble skinning them just take the back legs off, this is where most of the meat is. get three squizzers and you've got enough meat for a good meal. i can skin a squirrel in about half an hour. just a slit up the belly and pull outwards, cutting off the paws and popping out the limbs, and slicing the membrane between the flesh and the skin till you get to the head then chop it off. i'm keeping the skins until i have enough to tan them all, hopefully make a air of gloves
  5. it's big on me as well, but i don't find it a problem because you can adjsut the cuffs to fir tight around your wrist. means you've got baggy arms, but pigeons don't seem to care bump
  6. The arms are 23 1/2" from pit to cuff mate.
  7. Hi all, i have for sale a genuine danish m84 jacket, not a cheap copy. these are very well made and i have had mine for a long time with little sing of wear. i have used it for winter hunting and it is very warm. It has two lardge front bellow pockets. a diagonal zipper pocket on each side of the chest, an inside pocket on the left side, as well as a large 'poachers pocket' on the inside of the back. it has a pen pocket jsut below the danish flag on the left arm. it has drawstring adjustable waist and bottom. double zip with buttons on a storm flap,, high quality pop studs for hood attachtment (not included), cuffs adjustment and on the pen pocket. buttons for the rest. it is a long jacket which i have found very useful as you do not get a wet bum when you sit down on the ground or seat. It is pretty water resistant, i have been out in showers and light rain and not got wet. it has never been washed, as it is a hunting jacket and it has nice earthy smell which is exactly what i want. i can wash it for you if you like but i would do so with a tear in ym eye as i have spent years getting it how it is. it comes from a smoke and pet free home. this jacket says size 4 on it i dont know what that means though. i'd say it is a small/medium. i'm 5'6" and the jacket comes down to below my bum, which as i said is a very good feature.the arms are fine length on me. i have a 36" chest and this jacket is a litte big on me around the torso but there is plenty of room for witner layers. i imagine it would accomadate someone much wider than me easily as it is a roomy jacket. I have found the camo very good around hedges and conifers, it just picks up the environmet really well. reluctan sale but i have to sell for funds. £35 inc p&p
  8. i've had 12 pigeons so far this year, all with airgun which i am proud of 556
  9. i don't shoot in my garden as i am right next to a road, i have permission in some woods and paddocks near my garden where they roost. i tried hamsters technique yesterday with my best conditioned deek (with some tipex on it) near a group of sitty trees. i didnt have any intrest with the decoy, but i did nail one easy pigeon which landed in the nearest tree to me 25yrds away. i replaced the deek with the dead pigeon and about 5 minutes later a pigeon came down to land near the bird and flew off again in abotu 3 seconds, before i could get a shot off (probably saw the blood on the dead bird, as it landed very close0
  10. lol, thanks for the advice, i may try rthat today. i usually jsut roost shoot with the rifle but there is so much greenery on the trees right now that i can often hear them, but can't see them. even if i do find out where they are, the greenery almost always block my pellet and i often just see a tailfeather or a pair of scaly feet. bring on autumn when i can actually see them! i don't expect a decent bag, i would be pleased with just one!
  11. don't worry, there destroying the artichokes and brocili at the moment, so im fairly certain they qualify for shooting.
  12. hi all, well yesterday i set out some decoys yesterday in a paddock. i was sat next to some trees in the hope they would land there if they didn't land amongst the decoys. the decoys are fairly old, full body ones, with most of the paint faded. i set 3 of them up in a V pattern facing roughly in the direction of the wind, spaced about 15ft apart. i didnt have any netting with me but i was fully camo'd (headnet, gloves, hat ect) and had my back to a hedge with a few sparse shrubs in front of me. three times pigeons came into land and three times did they pull up about a foot away from the ground, sesnsing something was up. i was like a statue withall thre of these, not moving a muscle. most pulled up and flew off into the distance but one did land in a tree about 45 yards away, just out of my range on a windy day. about 5 mins later it flew off. what am i doing wrong and how can i get them to land amongst my decoys or at least in the trees near my decoys? atb Aaron.

  14. i'll take the bottom one for £20 inc p&p
