Snoogins
Went to Oxford Shooting School today for a lesson - things are going well. Shot at 75 clays in some different situations (loopers, coming away/towards me, and bouncing along like a rabbit- mostly one at a time) and managed to hit a decent proportion of them (in the 60's). Also, I picked up a SGC application (however, apparently it will take something like 3-4 months to come though- Thames Valley :yp: ). I did find my MacWet gloves helpful and picked up some really useful tips from the instructor. It was good to give a 28" Browning 425 a go and it seemed very 'pointable' if that makes sense. I found pretty easy to handle and more comfortable compared to the Ceasar Guerini from last time. One thing I did notice on the drive home was that driving home my cheek bone hurts-I've had a read and it look like my elbow position could be to blame(?), anyway something to address next time... Good Shooting, Leon P.S. If anyone could tell me what differentiates a trap gun from a skeet gun it would be much appreciated. Mr_Logic
Trap gun generally heavier and will be set to shoot high, since that's what trap needs. Unless you're shooting trap, get a sporter for your first gun. Regarding the cheek pain - generally gun fit and/or removing your cheek from the stock during firing. Snoogins
Thanks, just been watching some old footage of professional skeet shooting, those guys are pretty amazing. It is interesting that it may be gun fit, the coach indicated that a Browning seemed to be more suited to me than a Beretta would be due to the shape of the stock giving me a better eye position.
