What are your thoughts on the above rifle?

I looked at one today, stainless barrel and black synthetic stock similar to the picture below

It is brand new with a 1 1/2" at 100yards guarantee.

Anything I should be looking out for, or can you recommend me another .223 for less than £500, the cheaper the better.

All the very best,

SSS <_<

SSS, I have a friend who has one of these and in my opinion he could have bought much better. On his, the barrel doesn't float and the 1 1/2 inch at 100 yds may have been fired from a clamp and for me that zero is not tight enough. However I think you may struggle to find something else for under the £500 that the Weatherby is. Personally I prefer remmys but there are plenty of people who would recommend Tikkas. Just my opinion.

I've got a tikka 595 synthetic stock blue action and barrel mint condition only shot 250 rounds going for the same money but it's in .17 rem.

I am going to apply for variation for .17 rem, trouble is, do I risk buying a secondhand one :good:

you can buy in confidence and try before you buy very accurate and threaded 1/2 unf trigger tuned lugs lapped all work done by rfd gun smith who ordered from JLS when they were the main importers and the tikka 595 is a lot better action then the newer t3 one action size for all calibres. when I first had this .17 I killed 23 foxes out of 24 shots.

For Weatherby read HOWA - same action - my HOWA is fine in .243 and I am seriously looking at an old Weatherby in .308 at the moment
