Pigeons feeding on manure

Had a quick drive round with Stillsy today and found about 50 pigeon feeding on a field which has had some muck spread on it. It wasn't obvious what in the muck they were eating but it was heads down for one and all.

 

I wonder if anybody has had any luck decoying over muck in the past?

Yes I shoot loads of muck heaps they usually are on it in the dryer times of the year though, summer normally when they looking for moisture, I have a dairy farm I look after, had some good days.

Ive seen the same but that will not be for the day, they will move onto clover.

Had a quick look over some rape yesterday, rape not looking to good frost has hit it hard....., pigeons feeding on clover in good numbers though.

Had a few coming in on some piles of muck last week, but not sure what they were eating.

The fields which have been sprayed with the stuff was attracting the crows, but they flew off when we got there in their hundreds and never came back

Isnt that always the way,everytime i went onto a field there was hundreds of the little blighters but once theyd flown that was it ,Game Over

Now the weather is warming SLIGHTLY and the farmer is spraying nitrate onto the rape things might improve,fingers crossed
