concreat path

Hi folks

 

I want to put a pathway in my garden..it will branch off the existing one, i will need to step it ,as the garden is sloped,

 

I was going to do it in 5ft long x 2ft wide sections

 

would a 6" deep section be deep enough..would i need to put a steel/wire mesh in to hold together and what sort of mix would be best

4 inchs of crushed concrete or scalping but before whack the sub soil and then wack the the crushed concrete/scalpings.

 

Then two inchs of concrete you will not need mesh and mix wise 7 bags of cement to 1 tonne bag of ballast .

I'd definately put some terram or visqueen under whatever hardcore you put down under the concrete. I'd also use some timber edging as shutters makes a nice tidy job of it.

thanks lads..will be using a framework of 6" x 2" to keep it neat so 4" scalpings and 2" concreat thankyou
